About Dr. Mattappally

Nidha Mattappally, MD, is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG) and a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) specialist, providing highly specialized surgical care to women in Woburn, Massachusetts. Dr. Mattappally brings her superior skills and experience to New England Women’s Healthcare, uplifting Wilmington’s women and their health.

Dr. Mattappally grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, and later attended the University of Chicago. Here, she received her Bachelor of Arts as a double major in biological science and economics. She then attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, where she received her medical degree.

Dr. Mattappally moved to Worcester, Massachusetts, for her residency at the University of Massachusetts. She became the administrative chief resident, gaining valuable insight and expertise to round out her clinical experience. She continued her training with a fellowship at BI Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts.

Following her training, Dr. Mattappally developed many clinical interests, such as abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, and contraceptive counseling. She continues to learn and expand women’s health services as a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and Massachusetts Medical Society. 

When not empowering women in health care with evidence-based medicine, Dr. Mattappally enjoys spending time with her husband and dog. She also enjoys skiing, hiking, and horseback riding.
